Senior Backend Engineer with 20+ years of software development experience, including 6+ years of commercial Scala development.

Over the last several years, I have been building distributed backend systems and event-driven architectures using Scala, Cats Effect, fs2, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, Redis, and Akka Streams.

My current work focuses on a large-scale ride-hailing platform consisting of around 50 microservices. I develop services responsible for real-time vehicle tracking, payment processing, taxation, scheduling, and integrations with external providers. Key areas include asynchronous workflows, event reprocessing, retries, idempotency, and handling partial failures in distributed systems.

Previously, I worked on a national-scale electronic document management platform serving more than 70,000 businesses and processing over 1.4 million legally significant documents. My responsibilities included designing backend services, Kafka-based processing pipelines, external integrations, and ensuring reliability of multi-step business workflows.

Throughout my career, I have been involved in system design, architecture discussions, requirements analysis, mentoring, and cross-team collaboration. I am most interested in backend engineering, distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and functional programming.
